Following the success of his debut Concept Vague mixtape, Canadian rapper and producer Night Lovell is gracing Dalston’s Birthdays with his presence at the beginning of next month. Night’s foreboding and ominous sound has got him acclaim as one of the best in his sub-genre – don’t miss him for the agreeable price of a tenner. Tickets are still available here.
[Hello readers! We were on holiday this past week (Bulgaria, if any of you care!), but we’re back to bring you through the business again.]
In 12 days, the dons over that Those That Know will be joining the very formidable forces of Vicktor Taiwò, Jesse James Solomon, Sutra and guest DJ The Masks for a special self-defined ‘360 AUDIOVISUAL EXPERIENCE’. Taking place on the 20th of the month at Dalston’s Birthdays, the event will also feature live 3D visual projections from Martin Grey, and live illustrations W/ Dom Hoskins and Jason Adenuga.
This is a very rare event, and for some maniacal and blessed reason tickets are currently going for £3! Leave your microwave dinner and Eastenders at home next Tuesday and come out and vibe; we’re hoping Jesse James will be dropping some of his new work from the EP he’s already apparently finished!
This coming wednesday, elusive UK MC Rejjie Snow is due to perform a sold out show at Dalston’s intimate bar and venue Birthdays. After conducting a short European tour, Rejjie will be headlining the event hosted by Noisey, alongside exciting up and coming melancholic-electro singer Jelani Blackman and Noisey’s very own DJs. Rejjie has become a notorious and respected individual on the London scene in the past two years, with close ties to urban singer-songwriter King Krule, and friendships + collaborations with Crave Moore, Jesse James Solomon and Loyle Carner, so it’s not really surprising that the show sold out within minutes of being announced. This is a rare show and we’re lucky to be able to go – unfortunately, as we mentioned, tickets are SOLD OUT, but as usual we will be keeping you updated live from the show (with hopefully some more backstage madness like at the Flatbush Zombies x Underachievers show on Friday). We still love the very unique Rejovich EP (which he dropped last year) and are looking forward to see what Rejjie’s like on stage.
Listen to some of our favourite Rejjie Snow tracks below, and we’ll see you man who got tickets at the event!

This Friday, Corbin (or the artist formerly known as Spooky Black) is set perform his first ever UK show at Birthdays in Dalston. The 17 year old Internet Rap don will be joined by Falls and Little Cloud for the show, which sold out quicktime after a madness ensued when he announced the show recently on Twitter.
Corbin, who’s singing voice sounds more like that of a middle aged Black soul singer than it does of a teenage white suburban Minnesotan guy, has been hot news in the past few months after both his solo work, and music from his band The Stand4rd garnered shitloads of attention on social media and Soundcloud. His own brand of kinda-retro-kinda-modern electronic sexually tinged R&B seems to resonate with a significant young audience, primarily composed of a kinship of suburban white youth (tbh though we really don’t know what crowd to expect at this show). Corbin is new to touring, but based on this video taken from his recent FIRST EVER show in his hometown of St Paul Minnesota, we think we’re in for a very emosh experience:
The show is now officially sold out, but doors open at 19:00 if anyone wants to get down there early and try and haggle with the ticket touts. We’ll see you lot there.
The official after-party is being held at The Victoria in Dalston, with DJ sets from Corbin, Psymun, Blackfoot Phoenix, CKtrl, Siobhan Bell and Larry B. Tickets from £7, available on the door only.
