On Monday 28th March, South East London Electronic duo Le Son will be joining ethereal UK emcee Lord Apex for a FREE event at Dalston’s Birthdays. We’ve been bigging up Apex for a while now (after we caught on to his impressive Live From Los Santos EP, which takes GTA San Andreas as its muse), and are excited to catch him live. The event kicks off at 9pm – don’t miss out on this one.
Following the success of his debut Concept Vague mixtape, Canadian rapper and producer Night Lovell is gracing Dalston’s Birthdays with his presence at the beginning of next month. Night’s foreboding and ominous sound has got him acclaim as one of the best in his sub-genre – don’t miss him for the agreeable price of a tenner. Tickets are still available here.
In what is set to be the first proper tun’ up of 2016, the dons over at GUAP Magazine (the world’s first “video magazine” – check it out) are throwing a #GUAPPARTY to bring in the new year! GUAP have gone all out with the line-up – performing on the night will be:
House Of Pharoahs
Sin For Calais
+ many more!
DJ sets on the night come from Rico Mars, Darkstepper, Selecta Suave & Showtime WS. Take it from us – this is not one to be missed out on!
#GUAPPARTY kicks off at DOGSTAR BRIXTON at 7pm this Thursday. Get your wavey selves down there and come and party GUAP style! Online tickets (£5) can be purchased here.
Hold tight Hoxton! Grime legend Devlin is making a highly anticipated appearance at the Queen of Hoxton this Thursday, with support from Essex’s Dream Mclean and a number of IAmMusic unsigned artists, alongside DJs Carly Wilford and Shan Mcginley.
Kicking off at 7:30pm, the Queen of Hoxton’s Function One soundsystem will be spraying the best live bars in East London all evening long.
Tickets are still available for this highly recommended event, and can be purchased HERE. We’ll see you there!
[Hello readers! We were on holiday this past week (Bulgaria, if any of you care!), but we’re back to bring you through the business again.]
In 12 days, the dons over that Those That Know will be joining the very formidable forces of Vicktor Taiwò, Jesse James Solomon, Sutra and guest DJ The Masks for a special self-defined ‘360 AUDIOVISUAL EXPERIENCE’. Taking place on the 20th of the month at Dalston’s Birthdays, the event will also feature live 3D visual projections from Martin Grey, and live illustrations W/ Dom Hoskins and Jason Adenuga.
This is a very rare event, and for some maniacal and blessed reason tickets are currently going for £3! Leave your microwave dinner and Eastenders at home next Tuesday and come out and vibe; we’re hoping Jesse James will be dropping some of his new work from the EP he’s already apparently finished!
The dons at North London’s SoundSkool are bringing some fire to Barnet this Friday. Each summer Soundskool host their very own showcase ‘PLAY LOUD’, allowing current students to showcase the skills and tracks they’ve been developing since September, whilst sharing a stage with some of London’s most promisingly successful young artists. Last year Chip and Paigey Cakey headlined the show, with this year London emcees Lady Leshurr and Nadia Rose as special guests
PLAY LOUD will take place on Friday 26th June at Barnet Subud Hall and kicks off at 7pm and it is completely FREE. Make sure this is on your calender and come and support on Friday!
