In 2017, it appears to be getting more and more difficult to capture the authentic sound of ‘Grime’. It’s become a buzzword, which the mainstream media seem happy to apply to any UK genre that has a rapper. With acts such as Stormzy bringing elements (albeit the ‘softer’ ones) of the genre to a wider audience, there appears to be little going in the way of the rawness of the underground that the sound originally had.
That was what we thought, until we saw this new video from Fusion. The track’s instrumental has a snappy directness to it, with Fusion offering a blistering lyrical attack on the Feds. ‘For The Crime’ is instantly recognisable, and cements the reasons that Complex picked him as one of the thirteen British artists to watch our for this year.
