We first came across musical quintet Club Kuru via their Waiting at the Corner EP a few months back. Creating self-proclaimed ‘psychedelic crooner music’ (as dubbed on their SoundCloud page), Kuru’s creations are psychotropic indie ear-worms that dig deep into your consciousness. You’ll be humming their tracks days later, basically. We were immediately drawn in by their sound, and have spent a decent amount of time rinsing the EP while eagerly awaiting more of their crack.
Their newest track, after a few months of silence, is titled ‘Double L’. Akin to their past releases, it stirs elements of retro funk, jazz, soul and rock into a fun listen. Check it above.
The band are playing Hackney’s Sebright Arms in early September. Click the image above to secure tickets before they all go!
