Based in Streatham Vale (but now gracing screens all across the planet, thanks to a Drake linkup), Dave is one of the UK’s hottest artists of the minute, across all genres. Testament to this fact may lie in his new video for 100M’s, which has a Sam Smith cameo (we couldn’t believe our eyes either).
Dave dropped the track across digital platforms last week, offering his trademark intricacy of wordplay over a bouncy track produced by himself and SG Lewis. The visuals come once again from Dir.LX, who has a special relationship with Dave’s music. We follow Dave around his job at a high street cornershop, while another young male completes a paper round. It’s a weird concept which we don’t quite get yet, but we will definitely be watching this a few times more. However, what it does do, is subvert the current trend of UK rap videos being based around drug dealing and thottery. These are young men hard at work, and they reap the reward at the end.
If you want some more freshness from Dave, check out his recent performance on Jools Holland, accompanied by a band.
