Coops – “Frankincense & Myrrh”

Shortly after blessing us with “More Time“, London’s Coops quickly follows up with new track “Frankincense & Myrrh”. Titled with a biblical reference, Coops drops his trademark complex wordplay over a jazz-infused boom bap offering.

Coops is set to drop upcoming album God Complex in the next few weeks (June 6th to be precise), with these new tracks being a taster of what wonders will be on offer. Speaking to CLASH, Coops said of the new project “[God Complex] was a musical experiment. Some songs I wrote, and some I just went into the booth and started recording. My intention for this approach was to discover something new musically and within myself.”

We suspect that “Frankincense & Myrrh” has been around for a while as we heard it performed at his 02 Academy show last year. We’re glad we finally have the official audio to spin!
