James Blake – “The Colour In Anything” [Album]

London’s James Blake surprised fans earlier this week with the release of new album The Colour In Anything. After previewing three brand new tracks from the project on Annie Mac‘s Radio 1 show on Friday, Blake revealed the project would drop just a few hours later.

The Colour In Anything is comprised of 17 tracks, featuring writing credits from none other than Frank Ocean (who seems to be working on every album other than his own) and Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon.

Album artwork is from top illustrative don Quentin Blake, whose work you will recognise from the Roald Dahl books!

Interesting fact: Blake has confirmed that Kanye West was originally meant to feature on the album, but didn’t end up sending his verses through in time. Maybe North West flushed them down the toilet?

You can listen to The Colour In Anything on Spotify, or download it on iTunes here. Well, well, well worth your money!

James will be performing at Shoreditch’s Village Underground on Monday 23rd May. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 9am!
