Mick Jenkins – Grenade Theory & $3,000 Advice

Chicago H20 advocate Mick Jenkins dropped two new tracks last week, ahead of a new collection of tracks apparently entitled Sip! The artwork for the project states that it’s “a collection of shit I’ve been working on with THEMpeople featuring theMIND.”

“Grenade Theory” features meditative and soothing production from THEMpeople, guest vocals from theMIND, and a socially conscious verse from Jenkins himself, mulling over Chicago life and lack of opportunity – “They told me drive slow / I’m from Chicago, I’m innately expecting a couple potholes”.

“$3000 Advice” is a more upbeat affair, featuring a bouncy & billowing production from THEMpeople once again, and a killer hook from Mick, with all the usual references to his favourite beverages water and ginger beer.

We can’t wait to hear Sip! in full!
