Dorris & Hypes – “Lloyds TSB” (Prod. WhyJay)

Welcome to the red-bricked terraced roads of Manchester – ominous skull masks, impromptu darts games using each other’s naked backs, and Hennessy seemingly flowing from the taps.

This is the haunting and chaotic world presented to us by Manchester Grime emcees Dorris and Hypes in the new (and actually very impressively creative) video for “Lloyds TSB”. It’s a blurred, almost Blair Witchey, hand-held camera affair with crackly visuals and unnerving cuts – you never really know what’s coming next.

Production comes from WhyJay, and with no exaggeration, the instrumental is a FUCKING banger, utilising an overpowering bass bounce and a chopped up choir chorus, which Dorris and Hypes ride professionally in what is most definitely the most impressive work from the duo. Manchester is going IN with this one, and we can’t wait to hear what else the Mancunian Grime crowd have to offer over the rest of the year.

(Make sure you look closely at the cover artwork as well – produced by Grime mixtape cover aficionado Joe Whelan)
