Check the hauntingly beautiful visuals for Witty Rock’s “Benzo”

Freshly dropped this evening, we have some some creepily powerful new visuals from Baltimore rapper and 9%BaybMastermindCamp (aka 9BMC) member Witty Rock. When asked by Pigeons and Planes (who premiered the track today) what the dark tune and its equally disconcerting visuals are about, Witty replied:

“It’s the transitioning and questioning stage in their career where they question the direction of their art as well as their lives. ‘Benzo’ represents trying to find some peace in all of the complication that goes on in the mind of a artist”

“Benzo” is a fantastic multi-layered piece, using the metaphor of the effects on the mind of popping Benzos to outline the struggles of being a hip hop artist in the tough modern music industry. The video is a massive enrichment to the track, offering darkened corridors, close-up face shots and religious motifs to create a harrowing yet alluring picture of the mind and thoughts of Witty Rock.
