GoldLink – “Sober Thoughts”

Though it’s been almost a year since the “Sober Thoughts” audio was released (last May) on his self-released debut mixtape The God Complex, Virginia’s GoldLink has finally released new visuals for the track. The song has been a banger from day, and is a prime example of GoldLink’s signature ‘Future Bounce’ genre (a term coined by his primary producers Lakim). “Sober Thoughts” is produced by Montreal’s Kaytranada, and the Shomi Patwary directed video follows a party involving scantily clad females, illegal narcotics, 40oz bottles and a whole host of other ironically un-sober situations and items. Though he’s become renowned for his impressive visuals with videos for offerings such as “Ay Ay” and “When I Die“, 21 year old GoldLink has still never showed his face in a video.

In other GoldLink news, the rapper recently managed to sell out a Sango assisted Boiler Room NYC set at MoMa PS1. Watch the recorded video from the live-stream of the event here.
