Playlist Special: The Best of Chicago at the moment (hint: does not include Chief Keef)

It’s the city that gave us Common, Kanye, Twista, Lupé, Chance, Jeremih and R.Kelly. Chicago has long time been a hub of American urban music culture, and due to the fire that has been coming out the Windy City; fire which, more often than not receives sometimes little to no recognition, having been overshadowed by certain other dreadlocked artists, we thought we’d dedicate a playlist to all these up & coming groups and individuals who deserve your attention. Here’s what we think is some of the best Chicago Hip Hop of recent times:

Sir Michael Rocks Ft. Casey Veggies & IamSU – Bussin’

Lil Herb aka G Herbo Ft. Chance The Rapper & Common – Fight or Flight (Remix)

Common Ft. Vince Staples – Kingdom

Alex Wiley Ft. Mick Jenkins – Own Man

Lorine Chia Ft. Chance The Rapper – Living In Vain

Kembe X Ft. Isaiah Rashad – Caged Bird

Green Sllime Ft. Solarfive – Nichols Park

Lucki Eck$ – Reflections

Jean Deaux – T.M.S Freestyle

Sicko Mobb – Fiesta

Supa Bwe – 0000 (Red Light)

Solar Five – Etiquette

King Thelonious (Producer)

Mikkey Halsted – My Life

Tink Ft. Lil Herb & Lil Bibby

Lil Bibby – For The Low

Honestly, we could keep going, but that’s enough for now! Maybe a Round 2 playlist soon. Big up Chicago!
